Review: Suave Almond & Shea Butter Conditioner

I have fairly long, wavy to loosely curly, color treated tresses that are prone to tangles, serious frizz, and fly-aways. Hair like mine requires a great deal of care, attention, and let's face it, product! I have found that the right conditioner can really make all the difference.

The basis for maintaining the health of my hair is a good moisturizing conditioner and infrequent washings. I have tried many different conditioners over the years, and have not found one that my hair likes as much as this product from Suave for an even remotely comparable price.

ALMOND AND SHEA BUTTER CONDITIONER

My hair is super picky. The wrong product will dry it out, weigh it down, or just turn my head into a frizzball in general. Every review of this product I could find was stellar, across the board for all hair types, but what about my particular type of difficult hair? Long, plentiful, and seemingly having a mind of it's own. After experiencing this product, I can assure you, you can believe the hype.

This conditioner amazed me. It's lighter than I expected it to be, and smells divinely! I used a medium sized handful (I do have long hair after all) and worked it from the ends towards my scalp. I was delighted that it didn't leave a slippery or sticky film on my hands, face, or neck and shoulders as some conditioners do. It was very easy to finger comb the tangles out of my hair while the conditioner was still on my hair, (about 3 mins from application till rinse out) and it rinsed out fully leaving my hair feeling clean, but not stripped and straw-like, even after a shampooing.

What was most surprising was that after letting it air dry, my hair felt super soft, silky, moisturized, and was wonderfully shiny. I can even get away without using a leave-in product if I'm not styling it afterward.

I started with their 16oz size, which lasted about a month and a half. I just purchased my second bottle, the 32oz size, for less than $3 at Wal-Mart. It would be hard to beat this product both in quality and price.

Nice posting and good to know that great conditioner has to cost over $30 an ounce! I'll have to go out and try some.
